Bentley In England Squad

Bentley was named in the new England manager's provisional 30 man squad for the friendly match against Switzerland this afternoon.

The squad will be trimmed down to 23 players on Saturday ahead of Wednesday's match at Wembley.

There was no place in the squad for David Beckham. Capello deciding not to give the former England captain his 100th cap.

The full squad:

Keepers: David James, Scott Carson, Chris Kirkland.

Defenders: Wayne Bridge, Ashley Cole, Curtis Davies, Rio Ferdinand, Glen Johnson, Ledley King, Nicky Shorey, Wes Brown, Joleon Lescott, Micah Richards, Matthew Upson, Jonathan Woodgate.

Midfielders: Michael Carrick, Steven Gerrard, Gareth Barry, Jermaine Jenas, Owen Hargreaves, Joe Cole, Ashley Young, Stewart Downing, Shaun Wright-Phillips, David Bentley.

Forwards: Emile Heskey, Gabriel Agbonlahor, Michael Owen, Wayne Rooney, Peter Crouch.
