MATCH PREVIEW

Wigan make the 26-mile journey north to Ewood Park to face a Blackburn side two points above them in the Premier League table.

It's been difficult these past few months, I've been playing mind games with myself, thinking 'When am I going to score?' - Wigan striker Jason Scotland

This will be Blackburn's first game since the extraordinary 6-4 loss to Aston Villa in a League Cup semi-final second leg.

Defeat leaves Rovers with only Premier League survival to focus on, but boss Sam Allardyce will take encouragement from the display at Villa Park.

Blackburn were the better side for the first half hour, then showed tremendous fighting spirit after being reduced to 10 men.

Wigan demonstrated their resilience against Notts County on Saturday, hitting back from two goals down at Meadow Lane to force a replay.

The match saw Jason Scotland open his Wigan account at the 21st time of asking. The Trinidad and Tobago international will now look to break his Premier League duck against a Rovers side who are defensively vulnerable.
