Blackburn V Huddersfield at Ewood Park - Match Preview

Ward worry for Terriers

Huddersfield could be without winger Danny Ward at Blackburn, while recent loan signing Jazz Richards is hoping to make his full debut.

Ward injured his ankle in training this week and is doubtful, while Richards, on loan from Swansea until January, could start after stepping off the bench in the midweek win over Charlton.

Striker Jon Stead is hoping to retain his place up front alongside nine-goal James Vaughan after making his first start of the season on Tuesday night, while defender Calum Woods, plus midfielders Oliver Norwood and Oscar Gobern are pushing for recalls.

Midfielders Keith Southern (calf) and Anton Robinson (knee) remain sidelined, but manager Mark Robins has no other new injury or suspension problems.

Striker Leon Best is back in the Blackburn squad after receiving what the club termed an "internal disciplinary".

Best has been absent since the clash with Doncaster on August 16, when he was dropped to the bench, which reportedly sparked a flurry of comments on social media site Instagram from the former Newcastle forward questioning boss Gary Bowyer's selection policy.

However, Bowyer insists Best has since apologised for those remarks and will again be available for selection, as will midifelder Lee Williamson who served a one-game ban in midweek following his stoppage-time dismissal against local rivals Burnley.

Rovers still have an extensive injury list, though, with Adam Henley (concussion) rated very doubtful and David Dunn (knee), DJ Campbell (ankle), Paul Robinson (back), Dickson Etuhu (knee) and Ruben Rochina (shoulder) all still out.
