Freidel represented the United States of America at THREE world cups, including the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea where Brad staked his claim as one of the world's best.

Brad won 82 caps as the USA number one after making his fist international appearance in 1992. The former Liverpool and Galatasaray star said:

"I feel the time's right to step down from representing the US and hand over the helm. I've had 13 great international years but the Premier League is a demanding one, and I want to continue to play at the highest level with my club over the remainder of my career."

The goalkeeping legend is currently trying to persuade Rovers boss Mark Hughes to offer him a longer contract with his current one expiring in 18 months time.
