Rovers chief Steve Kean has been scouring the market for a new stopper following Phil Jones' departure to Manchester United and he recently appeared to have secured the signature of FC Dallas' centre-half George John.However, when that deal fell through, the Scot has cast his net elsewhere and is close to wrapping a deadline day deal for 24-year-old Dann.
The highly-rated defender had been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool earlier in the summer, while Stoke City agreed a deal which subsequently fell through.But it now looks like Dann will get the chance for a quick return to the Premier League following Birmingham's relegation last term and make the move to Ewood Park before the transfer window slams shut at 11pm.
