Assistant boss Tony Parkes stood in for Souness and told reporter that the Rovers boss was at his lowest point since taking over the managers role at Ewood Park.

"Graeme has not given out the riot act. He is very disappointed. He takes it personal. He is gutted," Parkes said after the 2-0 defeat at the Walkers Stadium.

"He can't bring himself to face the media tonight which is quite unusual. He is so disappointed. I don't think he has got his act together to come and speak to the media.

"It's the lowest Graeme has been since he's been manager here. He's never had a run like this.

"He's had three years of success and this run has come as a bit of a shock to be where we are at the moment."
