"I'd definitely like to return at some point. That would be a dream come true," he told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
"I love Blackburn Rovers and I always will. So who knows what might happen in the future.
"I was gutted to leave Rovers. I was very happy there and, please God, I'll be just as happy at Chelsea.
"Everyone at the club, including the fans, has played a huge part in making me the person I am today, both on and off the pitch, so I'm very grateful."
