McCarthy has not been able to command a regular place in the side of late, especially with Franco Di Santo, Nikola Kalinic and Jason Roberts being in the squad.
McCarthy is said to be joined by another South African in wanting out, Elrio van Heerden has also struggled to get in the side and he too wants a January exit.
"Yes, Benni wants to leave Blackburn," Moore told KickOff.com.
"He has not been given the chance to show his worth this season in the Premiership and there's no denying that it seems like he is not the type of player Sam Allardyce is looking for.
"This has been a bad season at Blackburn for both Elrio and Benni - neither seem to be the kind of player that fits into the Blackburn system and both need to move on in January."
