"Brett has a big decision to make and is concerned about where he will play and what our ambitions are. I hope we can give him the right answers," Souness told the Sunday People.
"I have been interested in Brett since I saw him do well against Scotland a couple of years ago.
"I have been watching him regularly and was aware of the number of clubs who like him too."
