"It was an excellent performance by us against a very accomplished side," Hughes said after the 1-0 win at Ewood Park.
"We had a game plan and every player stuck to it brilliantly. We have done well at home this season and this is another very significant result for us.
"I sense a real determination in our dressing room and if we can keep going like this, who knows what we might achieve.
"After beating Manchester United here the other week, we then had two very disappointing performances and successive defeats and we will have to make sure that doesn't happen again."
