"Our second-half performance was very disappointing and in many aspects it was unacceptable.
"I'm not going to hide behind any excuses like injuries or team selection as we had enough out there to have put on a much better show than that.
"I can understand the fans' frustrations, they've been used to some good times in cup competitions here - with a couple of FA Cup semi-finals in the last three seasons - but this was not one of them."
