The South coast club progressed to the third round after a dramatic 7-6 penalty shoot-out win after the scored were level at 3-3 after extra time.

"All credit to Bournemouth," the Rovers boss said after the game.

"They tried to play the right way and passed. But I'm disappointed because we had a team that should have seen that game out.

"We conceded three goals which, given our overall chances, it's disappointing to concede.

"Having said that, our overall performance wasn't good enough and we did not deserve to get anything out of it.

"I think Sean has a very good team. They're well drilled and know their jobs. They stuck to their task and looked physically stronger at times and that is not acceptable.

"This evening's a wake up call."
