"Tonight we've built on the great results we've had of late and the win against Everton," Hughes said after the goalless draw.
"We restricted Liverpool at all times by working hard to close down their offences, which shows the class of our defending.
"I thought at times we could have held the ball up and created some chances on the counter-attack.
"But overall I'm delighted with the result and we've picked up some well-earned points from the last four games, which I didn't think we would.
"There's definitely a lot of positive aspects to take home from this and things that we can work on in practice."
