Hughes Delighted With Liverpool Win

"It was a tremendous effort and we had many heroes out there - Brad Friedel, Tugay and Benni McCarthy to name but three -but many others played their part," the Rovers boss said after the 1-0 win at Ewood Park.

"We're the type of team that needs everyone to be playing at their best every game and that's what we got here today.

"There was a real resilience about us and we stuck to our task when Liverpool were throwing bodies into the box.

"It's a big, big win, but we've now got to make sure that we follow it up against Middlesbrough. The table's so tight and back-to-back wins can make a real difference."
