Hughes Disappointed with Red Card Decision

"At worst it's a foul, but certainly not a sending-off offence," the Rovers boss said after the 3-1 loss at Ewood Park.

"He's won the initial header and then just fallen on him. He wasn't last man and he was 40 yards away from goal. We will absolutely appeal it.

"The first goal is marginal offside and certainly the second one is offside. Steven Taylor is standing in an offside position when the ball comes back in and I've had Keith Hackett in for two hours this week to explain first phase and second phase, and if I understand it correctly, he's offside.

"We're not going to make excuses, but there's been big decisions that haven't gone for us, which have had a direct impact on the result of the game.

"We're struggling a little bit with the guys that we have out, but we'll keep going."
