Hughes Gives Credit To Luton

"In fairness to Luton probably the worst result they could have had was us losing to Watford in midweek," the Rovers manager said after the 4-0 win at Kenilworth Road.

"We didn't impose ourselves at all there and we didn't want to let that happen again. We played some really good stuff and got the ball down well and passed it on a difficult pitch and it was a thoroughly professional performance.

"There were also some great goals along the way. That's eight goals scored and only one conceded now in two rounds so we're in good shape."

"It was difficult for Mike Newell today and I felt for him somewhat.

"They've been struggling with injuries and with their two best players sold in the window it was difficult for him to have any positive effect on us.

"But they're a good footballing team and they play the game in the right way and I'm sure they'll do well from now until the end of the season."
