Hughes Not Happy

Two goals from David Thompson, his first in 18 months, and a third in three games for Morten Pedersen, ensured a 4th round tie against Colchester but Hughes admitted the side didn't play as well as he would have liked.

"We got through and that's the positive but we can play much better than that," Hughes said after the 3-2 victory at Ewood Park.

"It wasn't a good performance but credit Cardiff for getting us involved in the sort of game we don't like.

"It wasn't a good game for the purists and it was hard to watch.

"The main thing is though to get through and we can now look forward to another home game again but we will have to do better than that."
