Hughes Pleased With Points

Villa had the better chances of the first half but second half goals from Andy Todd and Craig Bellamy kept Rovers' European place aspirations well and truly on track.

"We never got to the heights of last week, but that was to the credit of Villa," Hughes said after the 3-0 win at Ewood Park.

"They had a game plan, which they executed well in the first half, but second half we were a lot more positive, got the goals at good times, kept the clean sheet and got the three points.

"From now until the end of the season we have to take points from every game we play and I'm confident we can do that."
