Hughes: We Deserved To Win

The visitors had taken the lead eight minutes into the second half through Jason Roberts but Shefki Kuqi salvaged a point for Rovers in the 84th minute after Lucas Neill's challenge forced Wigan keeper John Filan into fumbling the ball.

"I think it was a ball to be won, Lucas Neill made a genuine attempt to win the ball, the keeper certainly didn't have it under control and who's to say it wouldn't have broken to Shefki in any case," Hughes said after the 1-1 draw at Ewood Park.

"Paul Dickov's challenge in the first half didn't merit a free-kick and Morten nipped in to score a valid goal, from my point of view.

"Obviously we had all of the play in the second half, we totally dominated and I felt that we did enough to win the game."
