Hughes: We dominated the first half

The Rovers boss thought that the side's first half showing warranted them leaving Stamford Bridge with a share of the spoils.

"We dominated the first half," Hughes said after the 4-2 defeat.

"We started badly, and did not defend their goals well.

"We feared a tough day when they went two goals up, but we came back well. They could not work us out.

"In the second half, we hoped to get something from the game.

"As for my sending to the stand, I don't know why. I was not happy with a couple of decisions the ref made. I tried to speak to him but he ignored me. I kicked a bag in frustration.

"The fourth official said I ignored him three times, but I will have to wait until I see the ref's report.

"It was not a dirty game, but I think the ref was influenced by some of the comments made about our apparent aggressive behaviour in the Chelsea programme and it counted against us."
