"Robbo's a fantastic goalkeeper. Obviously it is disappointing to lose Brad. We tried as hard as we could to keep him but financially it wasn't to be," Ince told the official Rovers website.
"I'm disappointed but by the same token we have to move on and we've replaced him with an outstanding goalkeeper in Paul Robinson.
"He's had his ups and downs at Tottenham and England but at the end of the day he's an international goalkeeper.
"He has played for England forty-odd times, and he's an England No.1 goalkeeper alongside David James.
"So it is a new start for him and I'm looking forward to working with him and hopefully he is one of many to come into Blackburn Rovers."
