Kean Expects Rocky To Return To His Best Form

The Paraguay striker has not had the best of times at Manchester City, he has suffered with injuries and found it difficult to recreate the form that got Mark Hughes to part with a fair wedge of City’s cash to sign him from Rovers in 2009.

But Steve Kean feels that Ewood Park is just the place for Rocky to get back to his very best and do Rovers a big favour by helping lift them further up the table.

Kean said: "It is about quality - he is fantastic on the ground, has a great touch and obviously his aerial ability has never been in question.

"His overall stature and class is something that can raise the bar for everyone here.

"What is massive for him is that this is not like going to a new club.

"This is coming back to somewhere that is special and I am sure he is going to deliver just as good, if not better this time around."

Santa Cruz scored 29 goals in two seasons with Rovers - 23 of them in his first season.
