Monchengladbach Set To Land Hoilett

The German side can offer Hoilett the chance to play in the Champions League next season which would be bound to interest the player although there are several English clubs interested.

Hoilett’s contract runs out at the end of the month and a move to Germany will seriously affect the amount of compensation that the club will receive for their prize asset.

If the Canadian was to stay in England, then under the terms of the Bosman ruling, the interested club would have to either agree a fee with Rovers or go to a tribunal because he is under the age of 24.

But a move abroad means that just a FIFA training fee would be due and that would mean a cheque for well below £1million.

Although two English clubs have been in talks with Hoilett, the Germans are confident that they will have their man on a four year contract.
