He had been expected to return to Norway once his contract is up. This, however, doesn't seem as likely as it did a few months ago.
Ostenstad told press: "I always felt that I would stay at Blackburn if at all possible, but I never knew what would happen.
"But I want to see out the last 18 months of my contract here.
"I don't think I will be going back to Norway in January because it would be a difficult transfer to arrange. It is a totally different league you are talking about in Norway and I don't think it will happen."
