Blackburn defender Lars Jacobsen said that all the side had a point to prove in the game with Villa at the weekend and he believes that the win did just that.
The previous week, all the players felt the lash of Sam Allardyce’s tongue after going down 3-0 away to Everton.
He wanted a response in the next game and a late goal from David Dunn which secured the three points after Rovers were reduced to ten men gave Allardyce what he wanted.
"Even though we had a bad game last weekend, we came back to Ewood Park and showed there's some character in this team," said Jacobsen.
"I hope we are on the way forward now."
