O'Neill is worried that they will have a "serious point" to get across when his team face Rovers in the Uefa Cup. He believes that the pair wish to prove that they should still be "gracing the Champions League" with Man United.

The Celtic boss has pointed out the former United pair as the men who his side should fear the most after winning the Champions League in 1999 - and he feels they will be out to show they can still bang in the goals on the biggest stage.

He told an unofficial source: "The four forward players [Chris Sutton and Henrik Larsson] are top-quality players and I assume that Blackburn will have Cole and Yorke up front.

"They will be fresh from their European triumph of a couple of seasons ago and I'm sure they will possibly feel that they should still be playing for Manchester United. They have proved themselves to be top-class players and they are a massive danger to us.''
