Rovers Now and Then

Last updated : 01 July 2004 By Colin Rae
Rovers, under the late Jack Walker have had a roller-coaster ride in the last ten years, winning the Premiership, but also suffering the humiliation of relegation.

The book doesn't just tell the story of the last decade though, it also covers Rovers' illustrious history, including FA Cup Finals, local derbies, riots, high-scoring games, famous captains and managers, highs and lows and much much more.

Many fans will be more than interested in the mini-biographies of Rovers greats. The likes of Eddie Quigley, Ronnie Clayton who still works in Rovers Hospitality, Glen Keeley, Howard Kendall, Simon Garner and Alan Shearer will bring the memories flooding back.

Shearer is still one of Rovers most prolific scorers, netting 128 goals in all competitions in just 162 games before his then record £15 million move to Newcastle.

Rovers all time top league scorer remains the ever popular Simon Garner with 168 league goals.

Graeme Souness, has written the foreword for the book.
