Rovers To Swoop For Big-Name Striker

Blackburn Rovers are set to make a last-gasp attempt to sign a new striker before the January transfer window slams shut on Monday.
Various names have been banded around the media, but it seems Diego Tristan and John Carew are the two major targets Rovers boss Mark Hughes has set.

Tristan, who currently plays for Deportivo La Coruna in Spain WAS considered one of the best strikers in Europe after his goal-scoring exploits in the UEFA Champions League a few years ago. Meanwhile, tall powerful Norwegian forward John Carew could be described as exactly what Rovers have been missing this season.

It is thought a loan-move for either one of the pair could be completed over the weekend. Watch this space.
