The 23-year-old has been with Rovers for just a year, but has been given permission to talk to other clubs with a view to a move away from Ewood Park.

"He played in the reserve game last week and he's coming in for a week's training," Doncaster boss Dean Saunders told The Sheffield Star.

"Blackburn have given him permission to come and train with us and and, if I think that he is better than what we've got, I'll try and do something about it.

"In the situation we are in, we've got to try and persuade players that if they play for Doncaster they are in the shop window.

"If they want to play in the Premiership it's no use not playing wherever they are, they may as well come and play for us and, if we are lucky, they might stay."
