The Wales internaional midfielder completed his move to Ewood Park just a few hours before Rovers' FA Cup 3rd Round replay against Cardiff City and after watching the side progress to the 4th Round with a 3-2 win he explained how pleased he was at joining up again with his former international team boss.

"I'm absolutely delighted to be here and Mark Hughes, Mark Bowen and Eddie Niedzwiecki were obviously major factors behind that decision," he told the clubs official website.

"To get the chance to play for Mark is massive for me, it is a dream come true. He was my boyhood hero and I want to do everything I can for him.

"This has probably been the longest two weeks of my life and and to go from maybe hero status to probably the most hated man in Birmingham in the space of two weeks was hard to take. But now it has all been worth it.

"Blackburn is a fantastic club and my goal is to repay the faith they've shown me."
