Slovakian full-back in talks

Souness is hoping the Parma defender can be persuaded to join Rovers on loan with a view to a permanent deal at the end of the season having failed in a bid to bring in Juan Fran Garcia from Celta Vigo.

"We believe we have an agreement with the Parma," said Souness.

"The Juan Fran deal is finished now, so we went in for Gresko.

"It has been difficult trying to get someone in but there are some quality players at this club and to improve that we have to get someone better.

"We could have gone out and signed any old left-back but we want someone who will make us better."
