Souness Considers Neill Omission

The Australian international full-back has been shown a red card in two previous meetings with the Reds already this season and according to coach Tony Parkes the Rovers boss may well leave Neill out of the side for this weekends game.

"The manager does not want to give Liverpool an advantage, if by playing Lucas that is a plus for Liverpool. He is thinking about what to do," said Parkes.

"What will happen depends how Liverpool see it. We don't want to give them an advantage by making it easy for their team talk and making it a little bit of a grudge match.

"We have to think about it very carefully, feelings ran high at the time but that was all over very quickly and we hope it's forgotten at Anfield but we won't know until we get there.

"Part of the reason for it is Graeme being ex-Liverpool but he's very committed and very passionate whoever we are playing against."
