Souness gets FA fine

Referee Andy D'Urso sent the Rovers boss to the stands after he had been annoyed by an incident involving goalkeeper Brad Friedel and argued angrily with the fourth official, Matt Messias.

"The commission reprimanded Souness and fined him £10,000. He was also ordered to pay the costs of the hearing and warned to his future conduct," a statement from the FA read.

"In taking into account the length of time it had taken for the case to be concluded and the admission of improper conduct, the commission did not feel it was appropriate to impose a touchline ban on this occasion."
