Souness pleased with a draw

"We played well and it would have been unfair not to have taken something from the game," said Souness.

"I thought we coped with what they threw at us very well, we kept the ball quite well on a difficult pitch against a very good team.

One thing that did surprise the Rovers boss was David Dunn having to come off after only 19 minutes of the game with a recurrence of his calf injury.

"Dunn had a reaction to an old calf injury which is a bit bewildering because he came back after three weeks out and played the full 90 minutes at Aston Villa on Saturday," Souness said.
