Graeme Souness said he was pleased with the excellent form of new boy Jon Stead after he scored the winner in the vital clash at Everton.
The youngster bought in the transfer window from Huddersfield Town has proved decisive in their rise away from the relegation zone and the Rovers manager was quick to praise his contribution.
Souness said: "I've been trying to play how good Stead is down but we're delighted with him.
"His goals have been vital and his contribution has been vital and at the end of the season I'll tell you just how good he is."
Souness however refused to agree that Rovers were were completely safe of falling out of the Premiership: "I'm not going to say we're safe until we are safe. There's still a chance," he added.
