Souness praise for Sukur

"Hakan is capable of scoring any type of goal. For his goals tonight he showed great movement and he's so aware of what's going on about him," the Rovers boss told Sky Sports after the game at Loftus Road.

"He linked up well with Andy Cole. He's had two operations since he's been here and I think only now are we seeing the true Hakan Sukur.

"It could have gone either way but once we got the first goal we settled and when we got the second goal I thought we were always going to win.

"It's a lively pitch which didn't suit either team so it was a difficult night for the 22 out there. Defensively we looked solid, and we had people in the team capable of opening the door for us."
