Souness upset with defending

Rovers looked dead and buried and out of the cup at 3-1 down, but goals from Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke earned a replay at the Stadium of Light.

Souness said: "Come to Ewood Park for thrills. It was a good game for the neutrals.

"We were dead and buried at 3-1 but we came back - that's the upside. Our defending was a shambles at times.

"We know we can attack and threaten. Our defending was pretty ordinary. We changed our formation around and found ourselves 3-1 down. That's how well it worked," he joked.
