Bellamy was forced to withdraw from the Wales squad just a day before their friendly match against Slovenia on Wednesday night having picked up a thigh strain.

Bellamy had been doubtful for the Wales game with an unrelated ankle injury and Rovers boss Mark Hughes has confirmed that the striker is now due to undergo further scans on this latest injury.

"It is difficult to say how long he will be out. It is up to the medical people to assess the extent of the problem," Hughes said.
