Taylor to replace Short?
Taylor said: "Our last Premier League win was against Charlton, it would be very nice to end a run of disappointing results by beating them again.

"With Craig being out, it perhaps gives me an opportunity to play. I have waited on the substitutes' bench, but I am very keen to show the manager I am worthy of my place.

"It is clearly a very important game for us and Charlton are a difficult team to beat. Our home form has dipped a bit, but there are a lot of teams with few points between them and things can change very quickly.

"We know we have been playing well, but not turning our chances into goals. The arrival of Andrew Cole is a major boost for everyone.

"Our league position is not comfortable but it can change."
