He told the BBC: "It was a poor day for us and a poor game of football. We were gifted a goal near the start and should have gone on from there.

"I can only put it down to tiredness from having two games in three days, it was as bad as we have played this year.

"West Ham had a game plan, they left one up front and tried to be solid in midfield and they will be delighted with a point.

"We see these as games we have to win, we didn't beat the teams down at the bottom last year and that caused us problems.

"To be 2-1 up with five minutes left and to lose a late goal is very disappointing as well."

We certainly can’t afford to be dropping points against the bottom teams if we’re to push on for a UEFA Cup place.
