Wisla Krakow defender banned for five games

Blackburn made an official complaint to UEFA immediately after their UEFA Cup tie against the Polish side last week claiming that the South African international striker had been racially abused.

A statement on UEFA's official website reads: "Wisla Krakow defender Nikola Mijailovic has been banned by UEFA for five UEFA club competition matches for racial abuse of Blackburn Rovers FC striker Benni McCarthy."
