Blackburn 0-1 Wolverhampton: Match Report - view commentary, squad, and statistics of the game as it happened.Edwards earns Ewood win for WolvesDave Edwards scored the only goal as Wolves defeated Blackburn 1-0 to move within a point of a Sky Bet Championship play-off place.It was a well-deserved three points for Kenny Jackett's men, who could have had more to show for their afternoon's work than the one goal which arrived when Edwards clinically fired home his third goal of the season just after half-time.Nouha Dicko caused the hosts problems throughout and hit the crossbar, while Danny Batth headed over a great opportunity.Rovers' best chance came when Wolves defender Richard Stearman headed against his own post, but they did not create enough to warrant anything, and remained six points from the top six having won just once in the last seven league outings.Wolves made it three successive league wins, and have taken three points in their last three visits to Ewood Park.Gary Bowyer made six changes to the Blackburn side that won at Charlton last week, but two-goal hero Chris Taylor retained his place.Jackett was without top scorer Bakary Sako, who is away on African Nations Cup duty - one of four changes from last week.Dicko was one of those recalled and forced Jason Steele to parry his shot from an acute angle behind early on.Blackburn could have taken the lead midway through the half but Ben Marshall headed a Jordan Rhodes cross just wide, and Marshall forced Carl Ikeme into a flying save soon after when he repelled a 25-yard free-kick.The first chance after the restart saw Wolves take the lead

The midfielder easily escaped Grant Hanley's attentions and rifled into the bottom corner from 20 yards.It sparked Blackburn into life and Wolves almost conceded through one of their own as Tom Cairney's superb curling cross was headed against his own post by Stearman before the ball was finally cleared.Wolves won a free-kick through a counter-attack after 68 minutes and Batth should have scored when meeting James Henry's cross but nodded over from six yards.The chances continued to fall to the visitors as Dicko fed Henry, who in turn slid the ball to Edwards six yards out but, with the goal gaping, the midfielder could not make a meaningful connection and the ball trickled wide.Dicko could not have been closer after 72 minutes when he rattled the crossbar with a stunning curling effort and Rajiv Van La Parra fired the rebound over.Craig Conway forced Ikeme into a close-range save after 85 minutes and then Josh King's placed effort saw the goalkeeper produce a fine low save as Wolves held on
